Miranda Lambert has responded to her boyfriend Anderson East’s Instagram post slamming Garth Brooks for lip-synching during Wednesday night’s CMA Awards — and her reply might surprise you.

A post shared by Anderson East (@andersoneast) on

Anderson posted, “I keep a lot of my opinions to myself and respect anyone making music, but as a person who tries to put on the best and most honest show I can night after night…this truly offends me. I was told country music is three chords and the truth.”

Miranda replied, “High five on this babe. If you can’t sing then don’t. It’s better to be honest than to pretend. I think it’s (edited) BS. My favorite performances in the show were live live. The truth.”

Garth was forthright about lip-synching, explaining that he’d played 12 concerts in 10 days (for fans who have waited to see him for years and paid money for tickets) and didn’t think his voice would hold up.

Maybe it was a total coincidence but possibly not, Blake Shelton had a different opinion about Garth than Miranda’s
