Colorado cops help teen pull off prom-posal

Last week, a Northern Colorado teenager teamed up with local police to create a memorable prom-posal.

After reaching out to the Loveland Police Department, Officer Hurst worked with the boy and both families to coordinate the surprise. The plan came together last Friday night when Hurst and fellow Officer MacArthur arrived at the girl’s home with their lights flashing.

The officers approached the home and asked the girl to step outside (smiling the whole time so she wouldn’t get too scared), where the young man was waiting with a sign that read “I know I’m not a cop, but will you be my ticket to prom?” The girl was “incredibly surprised” by the gesture and happily accepted his prom-posal.

The Loveland Police Department shared the touching moment on social media, calling it an example of positive community engagement. The department praised the collaboration and both families say they appreciate the effort.
