Three of Colorado’s biggest corn mazes open this week

Sep 16, 2026, 4:12 PM

Summer’s over. You know how we know? The corn mazes are back.

Three of Colorado’s biggest fall attractions open their gates this weekend, and if you haven’t already started arguing with your family about which direction to turn at the first fork, you’re behind. Here’s your guide to getting gloriously lost.

Fritzler Farm Park in LaSalle kicks off its fall festival Saturday with one of the state’s most iconic corn mazes,  a tradition the Fritzler family has been carving into their fields since 2000. Located about 22 miles north of Brighton on U.S. Highway 85, Fritzler is way more than a maze. There are pedal go-karts, a pumpkin patch, human foosball, pumpkin cannons, mini putt-putt, a petting zoo, slide mountain, face painting, yard games, a beer garden and food trucks. Tickets start at $25.95, and active military, firefighters, police and EMTs get in free with valid ID. Oh, and when the sun goes down? Scream Acres. Colorado’s No. 1-rated haunted corn maze, opens Sept. 25 for anyone brave enough to walk a mile of pure terror in the dark. The fall festival runs through Nov. 1.

Maize in the City in Thornton also opens Saturday for its 26th season, and the 20-acre “Crazed Corn” maze is ready for victims. This one comes with a smartphone trivia game you can play while you wander, plus a mini maze for little ones, barrel train rides, a corn launcher, escape rooms and a petting zoo. The best part? Admission to the site is free, you just pay a la carte for activities. Corn maze tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for kids 5-12, and free for tiny humans 4 and under. It’s open weekends through Oct. 31, expanding to Thursday through Sunday starting Oct. 15.

Corn Maze at Chatfield Farms in Littleton gets a head start, opening Friday. Run by the Denver Botanic Gardens, the seven-acre maze is a little more chill, perfect for families who want the fall vibes without a full-day commitment. There’s a mini-maze for the littles, barrel train rides, classic yard games and food vendors. It runs through Nov. 1, and tickets are available at BotanicGardens.org.

Fall in Colorado doesn’t officially start until you’ve been lost in a cornfield for 45 minutes, insisted you “definitely came this way already,” and bribed your kids with a pumpkin to stop complaining. This weekend, you’ve got three excellent places to do exactly that.
