Your old Crocs can become a disc golf disc thanks to a Denver company

Aug 27, 2026, 4:17 PM

Two of the most Colorado things imaginable — Crocs and disc golf — have officially merged, and the result is exactly as wonderful as it sounds. Denver-based Trash Panda Disc Golf has partnered with Broomfield-based Crocs to turn old, beat-up shoes into high-performance disc golf discs made from 100% recycled plastic. The discs are blended with shredded Crocs shoes collected through the footwear company’s “Old Crocs, New Life” takeback program, and you can actually see the colorful flecks of Crocs’ proprietary Croslite material speckled throughout each disc. As Trash Panda founder Jesse Stedman put it: “Now you get to throw a mile with someone else’s shoes.”

The partnership launched on Earth Day 2026 with a putter and mid-range disc, and a new driver called the Crocs Procyon is dropping Sept. 14. Trash Panda has been making discs from 100% recycled plastic since 2020, and their products are now flying on courses in more than 32 countries, but the Crocs collab is their biggest partnership yet. Through Crocs’ takeback program, customers can return their shoes in any condition by mail or in person. Gently used pairs get donated to nonprofits like Soles4Souls, and the well-loved ones,  the ones that have seen better days and probably smell like it, get ground into shreds and turned into something you can huck 300 feet down a fairway.

What makes this story extra Colorado is that both companies are headquartered within 20 minutes of each other, Trash Panda in Denver, Crocs in Broomfield, making the whole operation a local circular economy loop. “Transforming old Crocs shoes into new products, right here in Colorado, supports local circular solutions while helping us keep materials in use longer,” said Deanna Bratter, Crocs’ chief sustainability officer. The discs are available now at trashpandadiscgolf.com.
