WATCH – Country star Ashley McBryde just put Greeley, Colorado on blast

I was born and raised in Greeley, Colorado, so I am used to the town getting smacked around a bit by all the other towns in Colorado. But I think this is the first time I remember a country music star taking a swing at my hometown…

In a new episode of “Pour Decisions” — a rapid-fire Instagram game hosted by Danae Hays where artists either answer tough questions/do tough challenges or take a punishment shot of something vile like soy sauce or hot sauce — McBryde was asked which city has the worst fans. To avoid taking the shot, she answered: Greeley, Colorado. The reel, posted to The 615 House’s Instagram and captioned “We can’t believe Ashley McBryde answered this question,” was posted earlier today (Aug. 6).

For what it’s worth, Greeley has survived worse. This is a city that endured decades of feedlot smell jokes, deployed state-certified odor inspectors armed with a device called a “nasal ranger,” and still managed to build the oldest professional philharmonic west of the Mississippi. A country singer picking us in a social media game isn’t going to break our spirit.

For what it’s worth I had dinner with Ashley a couple of weeks ago, and when she found out I was from Greeley, she warned me this was coming. She’s truly one of the kindest humans ever, and assured me that she actually doesn’t hate the city or its fans, she just really didn’t want to take the shot so somebody had to take the fall, Greeley happened to be it.
