Denver’s first snow is finally likely on the way this week

If we get to Friday (Nov. 21) before it snows in Denver, it’ll officially be tied for the second latest first snow in the history of Denver. Right now it looks like there’s potential we get some snow just before tat, though…
The 9NEWS Weather Impact Team said the Denver area could potentially see its first snowflakes of the season Thursday night through Friday morning.
Colorado’s southern mountains will see snow Thursday and Thursday night, while Denver will likely experience rain showers transitioning to snow. 9NEWS’ cautions that computer models are struggling with this cutoff low system, creating significant uncertainty. While snowflakes are probable for Denver, accumulation appears unlikely due to warm temperatures, though some slushy snow may occur.
Other areas will have a better chance for that first snow on Friday morning like Evergreen, Conifer, Bailey, Morrison, and even a few of the higher suburbs in the south Denver metro area. The Palmer Divide area south of Denver could receive several inches of slushy snow Thursday night into Friday morning.
Friday will bring chilly conditions before warming and drying this weekend, with additional storm systems possible next week.
