Monument’s new mini golf and entertainment complex plans to open in 2027

The Front Range is home to plenty of quirky sights: from the “Sun Spot” dog statue at the Denver Municipal Animal Shelter to our beloved Bluecifer near Denver International Airport.

That said, over the weekend, I witnessed a new oddity shadowed by the Palmer Divide. Driving south on I-25 between Monument and Baptist Road, dinosaurs have taken up residence just west of the interstate. Not only that, resting at the feet of the dinosaurs was a comically oversized human skull. Needless to say, the spectacle is impossible to miss.

As it turns out, the larger-than-life inhabitants will be star attractions of a forthcoming mini golf and entertainment complex. Lost Island II in Monument will be the sister location of Lost Island Adventure Park in Colorado Springs. The new facility will feature four themed miniature golf courses, an indoor playground and trampoline park and a full-service restaurant.

The family-friendly Lost Island II is projected to open in the spring of 2027. Until then, I am sure the prehistoric beasts looming over the grassy meadows of Monument will continue to startle unsuspecting drivers along I-25 before their habitat is finished.
