This Colorado guy gets an “A” for his creativity, but unfortunately for him, what he did is still illegal…
According to a press release from the City of Lone Tree Government, a 58-year-old man was recently arrested on charges of impersonating a police officer. He reportedly had his black Ford Explorer equipped with police-like lights, an audible siren, and a public address system, and used the vehicle’s lights to maneuver through traffic on I-25.
He was arrested Tuesday (Aug. 5) and booked into the Douglas County Jail on charges of impersonating a police officer, a felony. He’s being held on a $1,000 cash or surety bond and is due back in court on Friday. He’s being represented by the public defender’s office.
Lone Tree police are asking anyone who may have seen him or his vehicle engaged in similar behavior to contact Detective John Hastings at 720-509-1190.
