Last night (Oct. 20) was a big night for Brooks & Dunn. The duo was officially inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame!
During the ceremony in Nashville, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn were treated to performances of their hits by the likes of Luke Bryan, Brothers Osborne and Her Majesty, Trisha Yearwood.
During their acceptances speeches, the country legends explained how surreal the experience was for them.
Brooks remarked humbly: “Have you ever been invited to a really cool party that you just can’t believe you’re there? And you walk in there’s some really cool people in there and maybe even some people that are really your heroes? It’s like you’re not one of your heroes, but they’re there and you were invited. So you belong here and they make you feel real welcome and it’s just really cool to be in the room. That’s just kind of how I feel right now.”
One of the more surprising revelations was about Merle Haggard’s hand in getting the band back together. Not only did he urge Brooks & Dunn not to break up, he also helped pave the way for their reunion. Which, ultimately led to their successful run in Las Vegas.
All in all, there were plenty of laughs and tears from not only the artists but the audience as well.
Congratulations on the huge honor guys!
