Feb 18, 2026, 3:39 PM

I have a feeling a lot of people who will read this will think the same thing I did… “This study didn’t effect me, unfortunately.”

A report released by business publication Visual Capitalist last week analyzed how household incomes have changed from 2019 to 2024, using numbers from the U.S. Census Bureau not adjusted for inflation, and found the median household income among residents in Colorado has increased faster than that of any other state in the country.

Colorado led the nation with the fastest increasing median income from 2019 to 2024, increasing by 46.9%, from $72,500 to $106,500.

Median incomes rose $68,700 to $83,730 across the nation, marking a 21.9% jump.

Top 10 states where incomes increased most from 2019-2024:

  1. Colorado: 46.9%
