Bandimere Speedway one step closer to new Colorado home following land annexation

Apr 21, 2026, 4:40 PM | Updated: 4:40 pm

Bandimere Speedway cleared a major hurdle in its bid to return to Colorado racing after the Hudson Town Council unanimously approved annexation and zoning for a new motorsports facility earlier this month.

The council voted April 1 to annex roughly 1,100 acres of land into the small Weld County town, paving the way for a new entertainment venue near Interstate 76 and Colorado Highway 52.

The project, known as Hudson Motorsports LLC, will initially feature a quarter-mile drag strip but could expand to include a go-kart track, midget-car racing and other attractions.

The Bandimere family is partnering with longtime Colorado developer Carlson Associates to bring the project to fruition.

Bandimere Speedway operated for 65 years in Morrison before closing in October 2024. The former site was purchased by California-based automobile auction company Copart for $51 million.

A timeline for construction has not been publicly announced. Hudson, a town of roughly 1,600 residents, does not currently have a grocery store, and some longtime residents see the project as an economic catalyst for the community.
