How did 180 cows disappear in Colorado?

Dec 10, 2024, 5:31 PM | Updated: 6:10 pm

Could aliens like a good steak? Is there a real-life Yellowstone scenario playing out? OR maybe there’s just some really smart cows in Colorado. Regardless, 180 cows recently went missing in our state…

The Montrose County Sheriff’s Office along with the Colorado Brand Board are investigating 180 head of cattle that went missing from the remote Uncompahgre Plateau area in southwest Colorado.

Uncompahgre Plateau spans an extensive 1.5 million acres, so in other words, that’s a lot of space to search with much of this terrain being quite rugged.

Even though the situation is mysterious and could present many challenges, it’s important to someone as that many cows are worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Anyone with information related to the case has been asked to contact WestCo Dispatch at 970-249-9110.
