World’s biggest passenger plane lands permanent route at Denver’s airport

Most airplanes flying at of Denver International Airport (DIA) hold around 200 passengers, but soon one that holds over double that will call DIA a permanent home.
Lufthansa Airlines announced in January it will fly the world’s largest passenger plane, the Airbus A380, between the Denver International Airport (DIA) and Germany, and the first of these daily flights landed in Denver just before 1:45 p.m. local time today (April 30). The A380 departed Munich at 11:15 a.m. The flight will then depart Denver at 4:15 p.m. and land in Munich at 10:50 a.m. on Thursday.
Lufthansa said it will operate daily service between Denver and Munich aboard the Airbus A380 from April 30 to Sept. 30.
This is the first time a regularly scheduled flight on the Airbus A380 will operate at DIA.
The Airbus A380 seats 509 passengers with eight seats in first class, 78 seats in business class, 52 seats in premium economy and 371 seats in economy.
Lufthansa said eight A380s will be based will be based at Lufthansa’s Munich hub. The destinations are Denver, New York (JFK), Boston, Washington, Los Angeles and Delhi.
