Remember earlier this summer when the Colorado sky was polluted by thick wildfire smoke from fires burning in Canada? Bad news, the smoke is coming back this week.
This time the smoke will originate from California. Between three wildfires burning east of Los Angeles, close to 100,000 acres have been scorched in recent days. There’s also been some fire activity north of the city.
The smoke from those fires will start to float into Colorado on Wednesday night (Sept. 11), with a larger and thicker plume set to arrive later in the afternoon on Thursday. This will result in hazy skies at least into Friday according to the National Weather Service.
