Terminator 2 returning to theaters for 35th anniversary

Arnold Schwarzenegger wasn’t lying when he said “I’ll Be Back.” Terminator 2: Judgement Day will be returning to the big screens in August to celebrate its 35th anniversary.
July 3, 1991. That was the day that Terminator 2: Judgement Day was released to theaters. It opened to the highest Wednesday Opening ever at that point and went on to set the record for the highest R-Rated film opening and Independence Day weekend.
When all was said it done it became the highest grossing film of that year making around $520 million.
The movie will be released August 28th through early September to coincide with the movies “Judgement Day” which was August 29th and will be released in 4K, RealD 3D and other premium formats.
James Cameron, who directed the film, said that “T2 was made for theaters, and our lovingly-prepared 3D version, coming back to the big screen, is the absolute best way to see the film.
