You don’t have to know a thing about the world of professional bowling to recognize Pete Weber, possibly the most famous bowler of all-time. And that guy along with some of the bowling world’s biggest names will be in Colorado this week (June 12-17).
Weber, famous for the his professional wrestling-like antics on the lanes, including wearing sunglasses and the famous “who do you think you are, I am” outburst on TV, will be competing in Greeley at the Professional Bowlers Association Senior U.S. Open, which is part of the PBA50 Tour.
Weber will be joined by other famous bowlers like Walter Ray Williams Jr., Chris Barnes, and Parker Bohn III at Highland Park Lanes in Greeley. This will be the second year in a row that the Greeley bowling center has hosted this prestigious event.
The event begins with a practice session 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday (June 12), which is open to the public and free to attend. The qualifying rounds of the U.S. Open take place Thursday-Saturday, followed by match play finals on Sunday and Monday.
