WATCH – Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokić bombs (on purpose) in hilarious new Sprite ad

Nikola Jokić has three MVP trophies, an NBA championship ring and a stable of racehorses back in Serbia. Comedy may be one thing he can’t do, and he seems fine with that. The Nuggets superstar stars in a new Sprite commercial as a stand-up comic, and the bit is so dry you might need a soda after watching it.
The ad is called “Jokes Aside” and plays on his “Joker” nickname. It’s set in a classic comedy club with exposed brick, a spotlight and a lone stool. Jokić walks out, taps the mic and opens with, “Anyone want to hear some good jokes? Because I have none.” Then he teases the crowd about whether anyone plays basketball and tries a one-liner: “What do you call a factory that makes OK products? Satisfactory.” He finishes by asking if anyone in the audience is from Serbia. Only a few hands go up, so he says, “Goodbye,” and walks off.
The ad kicks off Sprite’s global “Never Stop Refreshing the Game” campaign. Jokić is now the face of the campaign alongside Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards, his playoff rival. Sprite says the campaign will run through 2027 with more ads, digital content and fan events.
If you’ve seen Jokić’s postgame interviews, you know the deadpan delivery isn’t an act. He’s the guy who once said he’d rather be at home with his horses than at an awards show. He may never headline Comedy Works, but as long as he keeps putting up triple-doubles at Ball Arena, Nuggets fans will laugh at anything he says.
