Phoenix Suns owner calls for no further punishment against Nikola Jokic after altercation

May 8, 2023, 12:35 PM | Updated: 12:35 pm

The Phoenix Suns pulled out another win yesterday tying the series 2-2, but what became one of the most talked about moments of the game was not the run-ins Nikola Jokic had with other players, but one he had with the Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia courtside.

While Jokic tried to retrieve the ball in the 2nd quarter last night, the ball ended up in Ishbia’s hands and it appeared he tried to hold the ball from Jokic as well as further contact which resulted in Jokic hitting him down with an elbow.  That resulted in a technical foul.

While we await to see if any further disciplinary action such as a suspension or fine will occur, its the Phoenix Suns owner himself asking that there is no further punishment and also saying he respects Jokic.
