One Colorado ski area extends their season to mid-June

Jun 4, 2025, 4:50 PM | Updated: Jun 5, 2025, 1:23 pm

Typically you don’t think about skiing in mid-June, but 2025 is blessing those who want to get a few more runs in this season with the chance to do just that.

While the majority of Colorado ski areas wrapped up their seasons in April, Arapahoe Basin Ski Area announced on Wednesday that it will remain open for one more weekend and conclude its winter season less than a week before the official start of summer on June 20.

A-Basin had already extended its season to reopen this weekend, June 6-8, and it will now reopen again next weekend, June 13-15.

There is still a 41-inch base of snow on the slopes at Arapahoe Basin, but the ski area did confirm there will be no more extensions to their season after this one.

The late closure isn’t actually that rare, as they closed for the season on June 16 in 2024. The latest they’ve ever closed? That was August 10, 1995!
