Larkspur Renaissance Festival Sees Special Visitor

Jul 9, 2024, 12:02 PM | Updated: 1:52 pm

Larkspur – For the second weeknd in a row, the Renaissance Festival was punctuated with a large animal visit. Douglas County Sheriff Officers found an 80-pound black bear lounging under a wooden structure on the Ren Fest grounds.

In an “X” post, DCSO explained the bear was nestled under a building that was, “ironically, selling honey combs.”

While waiting for CPW to arrive, officers monitored the bear, eventually naming it “Smoky.” Smoky didn’t seem bothered by all the attention. At one point, he found a ball and rolled it around with his paws.

DCSO and CPW were able to safely move the bear to area better suited for his needs and most importantly, away from people.

It turns out humans aren’t the only creatures running amok in Larkspur on the weekends. I wonder what whitty barbs “Puke & Snot” would have about the animal shenanigans this year?
