Heads up, DIA parkers: Garage closures start today and run through Labor Day
Jul 10, 2026, 4:13 PM
If you’re flying out of Denver International Airport anytime between now and September, give yourself a few extra minutes — the airport is shutting down sections of both the East and West garages for routine pressure washing and re-striping, and the rolling closures started today. The work runs through Sept. 2, wrapping up just before Labor Day weekend.
The garages aren’t closing entirely, they’re tackling the project in phases, knocking out a handful of rows at a time across all levels while the rest of each garage stays open. The West Garage goes first, then the East Garage picks up in August. Here’s the full schedule:
West Garage (all levels):
- July 10-15: Rows N-Q
- July 17-22: Rows J-M
- July 24-29: Rows E-H
- July 31-Aug. 5: Rows A-D and Premium Reserve
East Garage (all levels):
- Aug. 7-12: Rows N-Q
- Aug. 14-19: Rows J-M
- Aug. 21-26: Rows E-H
- Aug. 28-Sept. 2: Rows A-D and Premium Reserve
Signs will be posted in advance of each phase, but if your car is still sitting in a closure zone after the posted start date, DEN will relocate it to an adjacent surface lot — and tracking down your vehicle after a week in Cancun is not the welcome-home experience anyone wants. Dates are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. For questions, call DEN parking at (303) 342-7275.
If the garage shuffle sounds like too much hassle, DEN’s off-airport options include the 61st and Peña lot ($8/day) and the Peña Blvd/110th Ave lot ($6/day), both with free shuttle service. And for anyone picking up a traveler, short-term parking on Level 4 of whichever garage isn’t being blasted remains open at $7/hour.
