Duo temporarily reunites for CMT performance and stories of Kenny Chesney’s early gigs | Music City Minute

Sugarland fans — rejoice, the band is getting back together. Well, temporarily. Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush confirmed they will be performing at the CMT Music Awards with Little Big Town. It’s going to be really exciting to see these two back in the saddle again. Unfortunately, no word if this will lead to something more like new music or a tour, but we’ll have our fingers and toes crossed!
In honor of Kenny Chesney’s birthday last week, country comedian Cledus T. Judd talked about their early days on the road together. He reminisced about the first time they met. It was at a tiny gig at a Nashville Ramada Inn during an ice storm. They played even though there was no power or heat. Later, this unlikely duo teamed up for a tour playing in Walmart parking lots. One memorable show in Waco, Texas, was almost rained out. The gig was eventually moved inside where Chesney had to set up in the lingerie department. Hilariously, fans showed their love and appreciation by throwing lingerie at Chesney and his band.
I’m Sheena and that’s your Music City Minute.
