“Coach Green” has a pretty good ring to it.
As Season 30 of The Voice gets set to debut later this year, country music fans will see a familiar mustache in one of the famous red chairs: Riley Green is officially joining the coaching lineup.
Green joins longtime coaches Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine for the milestone season, with one coaching spot still yet to be announced.
Country artists have become a major part of the show’s history over the years, including Blake Shelton, who coached from Seasons 1-23 and remains the winningest coach in show history with nine victories. Other recent country coaches have included Reba McEntire, Kelsea Ballerini and Dan + Shay.
Clarkson wasted no time welcoming Green to the show. During a concert over the weekend, she surprised him with his own fully operational “The Voice” coach’s chair, which was rolled out on stage before the show.
Season 30 of “The Voice” premieres later this year on NBC. Green shared his reaction to Clarkson’s gift in a video posted to social media.
