Does Denver have a chance at a white Christmas this year?

2025 may go down as the least Christmas-y year in Denver ever. Record high temperatures have dominated the winter, and we’ve really only had one real snowstorm all winter. But a white Christmas could allow Mother Nature to redeem herself…
Bad news if you were hoping for that, though… Christmas is 10 days out, and advance weather forecasts are shifting. Meteorologists say a warming trend is expected in the coming weeks, so the odds of a white Christmas are diminishing.
That’s a relief to anyone doing a lot of traveling or driving over the holidays, but a bummer to those who love the idea of a white Christmas.
A temperature outlook from the Climate Prediction Center shows that the majority of the country, including Colorado, is expected to see above-average temperatures from the 19th to the 25th.
In fact, the only places that are expected to have below normal temps are the northern parts of Montana, North Dakota, and Minnesota, along with Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Oh, and ALL of Alaska.
For everyone else, it’s not looking good for snow fans.
CHRISTMAS: New data this afternoon continues to support the idea of a major pattern flip. This in turn will bring warmer than average temperatures to the central and southern U.S. Christmas week.
