Denver’s Minimum Wage Goes Up This Weekend – Will Become The 6th Most in the Country

Dec 30, 2022, 9:16 AM

If you don’t like your job, finding something that simply pays minimum wage may not be a horrible option real soon in Denver.

The lowest paid workers here in the Mile High City are getting an 8.94% pay increase on Jan. 1, as the city’s minimum wage increases to $17.29 per hour. Denver’s Department of Finance raises the minimum wage on the first of every year depending on the Consumer Price Index, which has risen at record rates over the last year.

Denver will have the sixth-highest minimum wage in the U.S., according to the Labor Law Center. Only three cities in California and two in Washington have higher minimums.

As of Jan. 1, the state of Colorado’s minimum wage will be $13.65 per hour.
