Are you like me, still waiting or an invite into the newly renovated Casa Bonita now more than a year after it reopened? Well, good news may be on the horizon!
In an interview with The Denver Post, South Park creators and the guys behind the “new” Casa Bonita, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, said they hope to open reservations to the general public by late summer.
Casa Bonita has been in a soft-opening phase for a year now, and the owners call it “beta-testing.” During this time, they’ve served 150,000 patrons. Stone and Parker have been tweaking things to improve the customer experience, from small elements like the timing of magic and puppet shows to large logistics like paying for and picking up food.
The owners are speaking to the media as a documentary about their journey to reopen the iconic restaurant will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival this week, offering a glimpse behind the scenes of the restaurant’s revival.
Premiering Friday (June 7), “¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor!” will eventually have Denver-area screenings before streaming on Paramount+ later this year.
