Owls, moose and bears… oh my!
It’s been a WILD week in the Centennial State. If Colorado was a movie, it would be called “Close Encounters with the Wild Things”.
Several stories popped up over the last few days describing these encounters. Check them out!
Owls:
Rescuing a great horned owl with @WestMetroFire that was caught up in fishing line.
Anglers need to be diligent with picking up any excess fishing line. In this particular case the fishing line was up in a tree. pic.twitter.com/T5m2DyYEAq

She was taken to @BirdsofPreyCO. They won't know the full extent of the damage for a couple weeks. They will treat with anti-inflammatory and let her rest for a couple weeks. She will then be transported to a flight cage so they can see how she does. pic.twitter.com/1eOiDXu5Nz

Moose:
Wildlife officers are in the process of relocating this young bull moose from Westminster back into the mountains. He was off 104th Ave. The darting & loading of the moose into the trailer all went smoothly and soon he will be back at a higher elevation with cooler temps. pic.twitter.com/KmvfPVw9Ru

Bears:
Looks like the local weather wasn’t the only thing actin’ a fool over the long weekend.
Please be careful while at your house or out-and-about enjoying our beautiful state. Locking your car doors will not only keep people out but also the Yogi and Boo Boos that are always hungry.
