Carly Pearce gets emotional during concert and Keith Urban’s first interaction Toby Keith | Music City Minute

Last Friday, Miss Carly Pearce shared an emotional moment with the crowd at a show in St. Louis, Mo. Turns out she had been closely following the investigation into the disappearance of Missouri native, Riley Strain. She addressed the audience saying, “I do not feel like I can be in the state of Missouri tonight and not say that we love you, Riley.” Miss Carly goes on to say that she was thinking of his family and friends and dedicated her performance of “Every Little Thing” to his loved ones.

Before Keith Urban was a country mega star, he was just a wet-behind-the-ears musician trying to make it in Nashville. Back in the 90s, he and a friend had written a Christmas song that was eventually recorded by Toby Keith. Not long after, Urban was playing a small gig on Lower Broadway, when he spotted Keith from the stage. He got up the gumption to talk to Keith and thank him for recording the song. He asked Keith if he liked it and the only answer he got out of the country icon was a guff, “We cut it, man.” Thankfully, that icy reception was just a one-off. Urban would later go on to open for Toby on a major tour.
