Denver Mourns Construction Worker’s Death at New Broncos Training Facility

Jun 17, 2026, 1:35 PM

The Denver community is mourning after a construction worker died while working at the Denver Broncos’ new training facility, a project that has represented excitement and growth for the organization and the region.

According to authorities, emergency responders were called to the construction site after a worker was found unresponsive in a confined ceiling area of the facility. Coworkers located the individual and immediately sought help. Despite emergency efforts, the worker was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the worker has not yet been publicly released, and officials say the cause of death remains under investigation by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.

As news of the tragedy spread, expressions of sympathy came from both the construction company overseeing the project and the Denver Broncos organization.

Turner Construction Co., which is managing work at the site, announced that construction activities were suspended following the incident. In a statement, the company expressed its condolences to the worker’s family, friends, and fellow team members.

“Our thoughts are with the worker’s loved ones and everyone impacted by this loss,” the company said, while noting that it is cooperating fully with investigators as they work to determine exactly what happened.

The Denver Broncos also shared their sympathies, acknowledging the profound loss felt by those closest to the worker.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the individual’s family and friends during this difficult time,” the organization said.

While many details remain unknown, the incident serves as a solemn reminder of the people whose work often takes place behind the scenes. Construction workers help build the stadiums, schools, hospitals, offices, and community spaces that countless people use every day. Their efforts frequently go unnoticed, even though they play a vital role in shaping the places where we live, work, and gather.

The thoughts of many across the Denver area are with the worker’s family, friends, and colleagues as they navigate an unimaginable loss. In times of tragedy, communities often come together to share compassion, comfort, and strength—and this moment is no exception.
