Broncos rookies shine in dominant win over Cowboys

After last week’s wild win, the Denver Broncos left no room for doubt this Sunday — jumping out fast and never looking back in a 44–24 win at Mile High. Look Good, Feel Good, Play Good was in full effect today as the Broncos sported their throwback uniforms for the first time this season.

Denver’s rookie class stole the show. Running back RJ Harvey set the tone early with a 40-yard rushing touchdown on the 2nd drive and finished the day with three total touchdowns and 46 rushing yards. Fellow rookie Pat Bryant hauled in his first career touchdown on a 24-yard strike from Bo Nix in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys’ offense never found its rhythm, while Denver was firing on all cylinders on both sides of the ball.

Final Broncos Stat Lines:

  • Bo Nix: 19-of-29 passing, 247 yards, 2 touchdowns

  • JK Dobbins: 111 rushing yards

  • Troy Franklin: 6 receptions, 89 yards, 2 touchdowns

One negative from the big win came early, as Defensive Player of the Year Pat Surtain II left the game on the Cowboys’ opening drive with what appeared to be a lower leg injury. He briefly returned in the second quarter but did not come out of the locker room after halftime, with the team later calling it a shoulder injury. There’s no word yet on the extent of the injury, but it could be a significant blow if Surtain misses an extended period.

With the win, the Broncos move to 6–2, sitting atop the AFC West and riding a five-game winning streak. They’ll look to make it six straight next week when they face the Houston Texans on the road, with kickoff set for 11 a.m. MT.
