IKEA is not leaving Denver, part of their sign just blew away in high winds

If you drive down I-25 in the south part of town and notice that part of IKEA‘s sign is missing, it is NOT because they are closing the store!
Crews are assessing damage to the sign at the store in Centennial after a whole piece flew off the store’s navigation tower amid strong winds across the Denver metro area on Monday (July 7).
Several trees also fell around the Centennial-area causing several hundred homes to lose electricity during the same storm.
IKEA says it’s working to make sure its building didn’t suffer any damage beyond the sign falling as some of those winds reached up to 72 mph.
This isn’t the first time wind has caused trouble with that sign either… A portion of that sign also fell off the tower in 2016, prompting officials to close I-25 for about two hours after wind gusts reached 25 to 40 mph at the time.
