If you see a giant building under construction in Aurora near I-70 and Chambers, you’re probably looking at the new ZYN nicotine pouch factory, and they’re now hiring hundreds…
In July 2024, Philip Morris International announced plans for a factory that makes ZYNs, a brand of tobacco-free, small, white pouches with plant-based fibers that allow nicotine to be absorbed into the bloodstream.
The tobacco company said it would invest $600 million within two years and create 500 direct jobs in the state, as well as 1,000 indirect jobs.
Current job listings include a logistics operation lead, maintenance lead, laboratory analyst, manager of quality assurance, project engineer, IT analyst and several other positions.
Salaries range anywhere from $85,000 to $185,000. Although, some positions require a bachelor’s degree as well as a master’s degree in engineering or equivalent education.
The ZYN facility is expected to begin preliminary operations by the end of 2025, with regular production starting in 2026.
