All-You-Can-Eat Sopapillas Are No Longer Free at Casa Bonita

Aug 3, 2023, 4:12 PM

One of the most talked about parts of the one of the most talked about restaurants in Colorado is their all-you-can-eat sopapillas… But it turns out the sopapillas at Casa Bonita are not a free for all anymore!

As Casa Bonita continues to work through their email list of people waiting for an invite to check out the newly remodeled Mexican food joint, stories from those who have been inside are starting to surface. That includes folks talking about the way the new menu works…

It’s an all-inclusive price for the eight menu items, each for the same price. The $24.99-$39.99 dinner ticket (or $19.99-$29.99 for lunch) includes a guest’s choice of entrees such as chicken mole, enchiladas or carnitas tacos, which come with free fountain drinks, chips and salsa, and, of course, sopapillas.

Each table gets one basket of sopapillas for free, but there’s no more putting the flag at the table up and waiting to get more of the pastries for free. Instead, additional baskets cost $1 for four sopapillas. So it’s not going to break the bank to pig out on sopapillas, but it isn’t free anymore either…

The restaurant randomly selects individuals who sign up for its email newsletter list and sends them unique links to buy tickets. Each person can purchase up to eight tickets – $39.99 for adults and $24.99 for children – for a date of their choice.
