Fans around the world mourn loss of "Generational talent" and iconic duo call it quits | Music City Minute
I promise I did not wake up this morning with the intent of being a bad news bear but sadly, here we are. Front man for the Grammy, ACM and CMA award-winning band, the Mavericks, Raul Malo has passed away. Malo had been battling cancer for well over a year and after undergoing two surgeries, the band was hopeful for a reunion tour. However, those plans came to a screeching halt when the bilingual artist took a turn for the worst in September. A family statement called Raul, “the embodiment of joy, love, passion, adventure, music, and a generational talent that touch fans and fellow artists around the world.”
Speaking of life‘s changing seasons, country duo, Maddie and Tae have decided to go their separate ways. The women are calling this transition “a hiatus” that simply came down to Taylor Kerr wanting to be a stay-at-home mom, while Maddie Font, will explore a solo career. Furthermore, the musical besties look forward to collaborating once again down the road whether it be in the studio or live performances.
