Carrie Underwood trades in her Bugatti paced lifestyle for a slower, Sunday-drive-in-a-truck vibe | Music City Minute
Professional entertainers such as Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood and Lionel Richie are constantly on the move. For example, in the music business, when artists are not writing and recording an album, they are typically preparing or executing a multi-week tour to support said album. Then there is the promotional aspect, which includes but is not limited to podcast, radio and TV interviews as well as special appearances. Now, throw in something major like a filming schedule and suddenly personal time is almost nonexistent.
Yet, in 2026, only two American Idol judges are going to have packed calendars and Carrie Underwood is not one of them. During a sit down with Jimmy Kimmel, the musical icons confirmed Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie would be touring this year while Carrie Underwood plans to focus on her family, judging duties on the reality competition show and only play a handful of festivals. All in all, I am sure the Church Bells singer, her husband and two boys will enjoy more time together and the much slower pace this year.
