WATCH – Trains at DIA run with doors open

If you’ve flown out of Denver International Airport, you’ve almost certainly ridden the train that goes from the terminal to the concourses and back. It isn’t slow…so having doors on that thing is really a necessity, right?

A video taken at DIA went viral this week, showing one of the airport’s trains running with the doors still open. The incident happened on Tuesday, and the video has since gotten tens of thousands of views on TikTok.

DIA explained that a passenger tampered with the doors before the train left the terminal and that the doors were open between the terminal and Concourse A. The airport said safety contingencies failed. Those contingencies should have stopped the train from moving while the doors were open. The issue resolved itself after the train stopped at Concourse A, the airport said.

The airport said it’s working with operations and maintenance partners, along with the Denver Fire Department, on the investigation.

“We are treating this as a serious incident, and the safety of passengers remains our number one priority,” the airport’s statement says. “We regret this incident and apologize to all who were on the train.”
