WATCH: Official trailer for the upcoming Joe Sakic, Colorado Avalanche documentary

We’re in the midst of what will be remembered as one of the greatest eras in Colorado Avalanche hockey, but it is not the first time the Avs have been great. The first time is being chronicled in a new ESPN documentary.

Specifically, Avs star Joe Sakic is the subject of the new original documentary coming to ESPN+ and Amazon Prime, called “Saving Sakic.”

“Saving Sakic” premieres on Tuesday, April 16, for Prime members in Canada and Wednesday, April 17, for ESPN+ subscribers in the United States, but April 16, the networks released the first trailer.
