Almost nothing Nikola Jokic does at this point surprises anyone, but last night (Jan. 23) he found a way to wow pretty much everyone again…
His stat line in the Denver Nuggets’ 132-123 win over the Sacramento Kings was pretty amazing with 35 points, 22 rebounds and 17 assists, only the second time in NBA history that a player has recorded a 35-20-15 game after Wilt Chamberlain in 1968. However, that wasn’t even the wow moment!
The moment came as time was winding down in the third quarter. Jokic took an inbounds pass with 1.7 seconds left in the quarter, turned and let fly with a 66-foot heave that got all net at the other end. He casually walked over to his bench as his teammates mobbed him and the sold-out arena erupted.
To make it even better, after the game he told a reporter, “I knew it was going in.”
