Vince Gill to be honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

The 59th Annual Country Music Association Awards is a week away, and on that night, country music icon Vince Gill will be honored with the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award!
The awards ceremony which will air live on ABC on November 19 and then featured on Hulu the following day will pay tribute to Vince Gill with a special tribute performance highlighting his 40+ year career.
In a press release from the CMA’s, they say that “Vince embodies the very best of what Country Music stands for” and they add “He’s a true trailblazer, one who gives back to the community, honors the roots of our genre, and even now, continues to share his talent with fans across the globe. As a Country Music Hall of Fame member, 18-time CMA Award winner, and former 12-time CMA Awards host, he remains a vibrant force in our industry, and we’re honored to celebrate an artist whose influence is so deeply woven into the fabric of our format.”
The release describes the CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement award as one that is “awarded to an iconic artist who has attained the highest degree of recognition in Country Music. The award recognizes those who have achieved both national and international prominence and stature through concert performances, humanitarian efforts, philanthropy, streaming numbers, record sales, and public representation at the highest level”
Vince Gill joins a solid list of prior honorees including George Strait, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers, and of course Willie Nelson himself
