USAFA invites volunteers to place flags at cemetery

May 15, 2024, 5:33 PM | Updated: 5:33 pm

The U.S. Air Force Academy is inviting members of the public to honor Air Force veterans for Memorial Day by placing American flags at the USAFA cemetery. Volunteers can join the academy staff on Saturday, May 24, to place more than 1,500 flags on veteran graves. Flags are placed every year to ensure each veteran is honored ahead of Memorial Day. Flags will be provided by academy staff, and volunteers are not required to RSVP.

They said in the event of inclement weather, there will be an alternative date. The cemetery is located at 3026 Parade Loop Road, U.S. Air Force Academy. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Memorial Wall by 9:45 a.m.
