Today is National Hot Dog Day!

Traditionally celebrated on the third Wednesday in July, National Hot Dog Day is July 17 this year.

Several restaurants are celebrating with specials and deals or are among the Denver areas for dogs.

First the deals we know about…

7-Eleven will offer a $2 Big Bite hot dog in the 7Rewards app on July 17,

Loves Travel Stops is offering customers a free hot dog or roller grill item on July 17 at participating locations. The offer is available in the Love’s app. Find Loves Colorado locations here.

Shake Shack customers can get a free hot dog when they spend $1 or more in the restaurant at a kiosk or on the app on July 19.

Dog Haus

Located at 12023 E. Arapahoe Rd. Ste 120, Centennial and 8316 E Northfield Blvd, Denver

On July 17, Haus Rewards members can get a free Haus Dog through the official mobile app. Find Colorado Locations here

LoafNJug

The convenience store chain is offering a full week of hot dog deals:

  • Tuesday, 7/16: Buy one, get one free hot dog
  • Wednesday, 7/17: Two hot dogs for $2
  • Thursday, 7/18: Buy one, get one free hot dog
  • Friday 7/19: FREE large fountain drink when you buy two hot dogs
  • Saturday, 7/20 and Sunday, 7/21: Buy 2 hot dogs, Get 1 FREE

We’re not sure about any deals today, but these are some of the best places to get a hot dog in the Denver area. Oh, remember – NO ketchup on a Chicago Dog.

Mustard’s Last Stand

Locations: 1719 Broadway, Boulder and 2081 S. University Blvd., Denver

A proud purveyor of Vienna Beef, this Boulder-based dispenser of Chicago-style hot dogs also has a Denver location.

Biker Jim’s Gourmet Dogs

Locations: 2148 Larimer Street, Denver, and stands at Coors Field

Jim ‘Biker Jim’ Pittenger is not your ordinary culinary chef. He is however, the undisputed Gourmet Dog King of Denver. With an appetite for grilling exotic game meat, a low-key approachable personality and a knack for catchy slogans like “Off The Street and Into Your Mouth”, Pittenger has redefined an American icon in his own image in more ways than one.

Harley’s a Hot Dog Revolution.

Located at 1500 W. Littleton Blvd., Littleton

Harley’s brings hungry customers unique iterations of hot dogs that include rare roast beef dogs, spicy guacamole dogs, pastrami dogs and more.

 Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs

Locations: 3525 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, Colo. 80206, DIA at Gate B-22

From their website: Ever since relocating from Connecticut, the word on the street we’ve heard over and over again is “You can’t get a great dog in Denver.” We changed that by connecting with our long-time supplier of the best hot dogs made, Thumann’s of New Jersey.

These hot dogs have a fantastic taste unlike other hot dogs in Colorado, combining a natural casing with a flavorful blend of beef and pork with a smokey flavoring that “snaps” when you bite into it

Billy’s Gourmet Hot Dogs

Locations: 2445 Larimer St., Denver and in Ball Arena: Sections 103 and 335

Conveniently placed three blocks from Coors Field, Billy’s is another on this list that aims to bring some of culinary Chicago to Denver between the hours of 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily.

From their website: Bill Feid’s love of hot dogs started as a young boy. As a child growing up in Chicago, hot dogs were a traditional pre-Thanksgiving meal in the Feid household. Every Thanksgiving Day, Bill’s father would pack the kids up and head downtown for hot dogs while his mother stayed home preparing the turkey. And so began Bill’s love of the hotdog and the good memories he associates to this day with the dog.

Chicago Mike’s Beef & Dogs

Located at 11405 East Briarwood Ave. Suite 900, Centennial

This self-proclaimed home of the original snapping dog has been serving up Chicago dogs for decades, but if you are feeling hot dog-adjacent on this holiday, then try the restaurant’s most popular sandwich, the Italian Beef.
