You know his work, even if you didn’t always know his name. He was Dr. Frank-N-Furter in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” — the role that made generations of us question everything in the best possible way. He was Pennywise the Dancing Clown in “It,” which is personally responsible for at least two decades of coulrophobia for roughly half the population.

The man had range. Villain, comedic genius, cult icon — Tim Curry could do it all with a single raised eyebrow and that voice.
