If there is a hole in your soul craving new music, three new albums that run the gamut from country dance to 90s boot stomping country to traditional Americana just might fill that void.
We start off with Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter.” The 27-song album includes a cover of Miss Dolly’s “Jolene” and a collaboration with Willie Nelson on a song called “Smoke House.”
Next up is Hardy’s “Hixtape Vol 3 – The Difftape.” Hardy and friends, along with the blessing of Joe Diffie’s Estate, produced the 17-song album. It includes many of our favorites like “John Deere Green,” “Pickup Man” and “Third Rock from the Sun.” Also, I have to warn you, you might need the tissues when you hear “Ships That Don’t Come In,” featuring Diffie, Toby Keith and Luke Combs.
Last but not least is Oliver Anthony’s debut album, “Hymnal of a Troubled Man’s Mind.” The 10-song record is described as Anthony’s life story from 2013 to 2023. Many songs you’ll recognize, like “Rich Man’s Gold” and “I’ve Gotta Get Sober,” with one new song called “Mama’s Been Hurtin’.”
