Thomas Rhett Shares ‘American Spirit’ in New Video

Jan 3, 2017, 8:45 PM

Thomas Rhett kicked off the new year with a special thank you to his loyal fans. The country superstar dropped a new video on Dec. 31 for a track titled “American Spirit,” paying tribute to hard-working Americans all across the U.S.

“American Spirit” is one of the new tracks that appears exclusively on the deluxe edition of Rhett’s smash sophomore album, Tangled Up, and it’s a reflective, acoustic tune. Rhett felt drawn to the simple feel of the song from the start, and he thought it was the perfect way to thank his fans for their support.

“‘American Spirit’ is one of my favorite songs to sit down and play on an acoustic guitar,” Rhett says (quote via Sounds Like Nashville). “So, I knew I wanted to make a video for it…just to share with our fans. I knew I wanted it to be simple and something that would pull on the heartstrings and I think it’s the perfect blend of that.”
