The Colorado Rockies are the laughing stock of baseball right now, but maybe their fortunes are changing after three days in Miami.
The Rockies beat the Miami Marlins 3-2 Wednesday afternoon at loanDepot Park to complete the three-game sweep, their first since May of 2024.
The last time the team completed a three-game sweep was against the Padres at Petco Park on May 13-15, 2024, a franchise record – 57 straight series without a three-game sweep.
According to Elias, it was the worst record by a team entering their first series sweep of the season since 1900, using a minimum of 30 decisions prior to the first game of a series. Coincidentally, the previous worst mark in that span actually belonged to the Marlins, who were 6-24 (.200) in 2024 prior to sweeping the Rockies (April 30-May 2, 2024).
The red-hot Rockies are off on Thursday before returning to Colorado on Friday to take on the NL East-leading Mets from Coors Field.
