Fizz’s Top 5 Easter Candies And Not A Peep In Sight

Apr 3, 2026, 9:16 AM

Happy Easter! After polling the office, raiding the break room, and consulting an unreasonable number of national rankings, I’m ready to declare the five treats that belong in every basket this weekend. Peeps are gross, so they’re nowhere on this list.

1. REESE’S PEANUT BUTTER EGGS

No contest. The egg shape means a higher peanut-butter-to-chocolate ratio than the standard cup, and that golden proportion is what makes the seasonal version superior to anything Reese’s sells the other 11 months of the year. Food Network’s staff ranked them No. 1 for 2026, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Bunnies and Eggs dominated as the top pick in 35 states this season.

2. CADBURY CREME EGGS

Love them or fight about them at brunch — there is no in-between. The thick milk-chocolate shell cracks open to reveal that unmistakable white-and-yellow fondant center, and nothing else on the candy aisle even attempts to replicate it. Cadbury Creme Eggs remain a regional cult favorite — Maine, for one, claims them as its top Easter candy this year. My #1 as a kid!

3. CADBURY MINI EGGS

If Creme Eggs are polarizing, Mini Eggs are the consensus pick. The pastel candy shell, the snap, the creamy milk chocolate inside — they disappear by the handful before you realize the bag is empty. Food Network ranked them No. 2 nationally, and one Taste of Home editor admitted to eating an entire bag as a kid.

4. LINDT GOLD BUNNY

Every basket needs a centerpiece, and the foil-wrapped Lindt Gold Bunny with the tiny bell collar has owned that role for decades. Smooth Swiss milk chocolate, zero gimmicks. Consumers consistently name chocolate bunnies the “classic centerpiece candy” of an Easter basket, and Lindt is the brand mentioned most often.

5. ROBIN EGGS (WHOPPERS)

The malted-milk crunch inside a speckled candy shell is an Easter-only experience that hits different. Robin Eggs are a recurring favorite among people who cite nostalgia, texture, and limited availability as the reasons they love seasonal candy. Colorado’s own Google Trends data this year points to Starburst Jelly Beans as the state’s search favorite, but in the Fizz studio, the Robin Eggs jar empties first.

Honorable Mentions: Starburst Jelly Beans (Colorado’s most-searched Easter candy in 2026), the new Twix Easter Baskets earning buzz as the most consistently strong new launch this spring, and Sour Patch Kids Bunnies for the sour-candy faithful.

Happy Easter from Fizz on KYGO. Now go fill those baskets.
