Northern Lights will be visible in Colorado again Wednesday night, find out how to see them

Nov 12, 2025, 3:38 PM | Updated: 3:57 pm

If you either missed the show that Mother Nature put on in Colorado Tuesday or couldn’t get enough of it, good news, the Northern Lights will likely be visible again tonight!

A recent update from the National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration indicates that the forecasted Kp score of the aurora for Wednesday night is now an ‘8’ of 9 – roughly what it was on Tuesday night. This is an upgrade from a Kp score of ‘6’ that was forecasted earlier in the day on Wednesday, indicating that the aurora will likely be seen above Colorado again.

More importantly, updated mapping shows the viewing range of the aurora now dipping down into Northern Colorado opposed to just central Wyoming, as was predicted last night, another sign that Coloradans will likely get a show tonight.

The best viewing time will likely be between 8 p.m. and midnight in the northern sky, but you can get updates at spaceweather.gov, where real-time data shows when conditions are favorable.
