There is a new rollercoaster that holds the claim, “highest elevation rollercoaster in North America,” and it’s located in Estes Park, Colorado!
In late June the “Gold Rush” rollercoaster opened at Fun City in Estes Park, at 7,550 feet above sea level.
It dethroned another Colorado coaster for the title. The Cliffhanger at Glenwood Springs’ Glenwood Caverns previously held the title at 7,160 feet above sea level.
Keep in mind though, the new Estes Park coaster is a kiddie ride, standing at just 19 feet tall at it’s tallest. The Glenwood coaster is a full-sized at 50 feet tall.
