There are a few reasons for it, but if you want to see the first Denver Broncos game of the season at Empower Field at Mile High, you better be ready to pay up!
As of publishing this article, the cheapest tickets (two together) on Ticketmaster are going for $309 a piece, and of course they are way up in the nosebleeds, section 524. The cheapest ticket in the lower bowl is upwards of $500.
So why are they so pricey?
First off, traditionally the home-opener is one of the most in-demand games. Fans are just excited to have football back, and that often drives up the price.
Then you add in the hype. Fans and experts alike think the Broncos may finally have a real quarterback in Bo Nix. Sure, most experts think the team will still have a subpar season, I feel like the general vibe around Denver is that this team will overachieve this year.
Finally, the Pittsburgh Steelers, who’ll be the Broncos’ opponent for this game on September 15th, just announced that Russell Wilson will be their starting quarterback. I know a TON of Broncos’ fans who would gladly shell out this kind of money simply to boo the guy who set our franchise back at least a few years.
