The gargoyles are back at Denver International Airport after 5 years away

May 17, 2024, 4:03 PM | Updated: 5:33 pm

If you go down the rabbit hole you’ll find that there are hundreds of reasons people have conspiracy theories about Denver International Airport. One of them is the gargoyles that watched your every move at baggage claim. However, they’ve been missing for the last handful of years… But they’re back!!

DIA posted about the gargoyles reintroduction on social media saying a few months back saying, “Reunited and it feels so good! After a 5-year hiatus, both of our gargoyles are back on watch 👀 in East and West Baggage Claim.

This recently reinstalled sculpture is one of two that have been perched above our baggage carousels since 1995 to protect passenger luggage. A legacy artwork at DEN, the pair are officially known as “Notre Denver” by artist Terry Allen.

You can find this horned creature on East Level 5, between doors 507 and 509.”

In case you were wondering, the airport has addressed rumors about the gargoyles and said the two gargoyles love passengers and are not evil.
